Preview – Day 5 – Rio Lagartos

I don’t have the time to finish editing all of the Rio Lagartos pictures today, but since they are the super-awesome bird shots, I wanted to put up a couple of teasers. Back soon with many more flamingos. That’s one kick-ass tiger heron.
Scary amounts of work

After vacation there is always some blowback, with about the same level of scariness as the wilds of Cobá… No, really, there is a lot of work to be done. Crazy how it just sneaks up on you. Now to go barefoot through my dark, dark house. (shivers)
Time to run some of this ceviche off

And get to editing. Back from the Yucatan and Quintana Roo and feeling relief from the heat and humidity. Sometimes a week can feel like a nice long time. Lots of amazing birds, sights, food, and time with my guy help. As if the flamingos aren’t teasing enough, the route we took: [mappress mapid=”11″]
A Classic Friday

More Acrobatics!

Both a demand of life in general and an exclamation about the show Puntos Suspensivos by the Mermejita Circus last night. Wonderful, simply wonderful. Also, how I feel lately about the twists and turns in all my projects, and then the title is read as an exasperated sigh.
The morning routine

Monday with a flourish

The most wonderful time of the year

The circus festival is back! The circus festival is back! Forget all other ways of marking Peace Corps service time, I am now just counting time in between festivals of acrobatics. Birds of my Neighborhood

You’ve already met the cat that stalks them or dreams of stalking them, so now it’s time to give some attention to the birds that hang around my neighborhood. Mainly, it was just really nice on my terrace the other evening, so I decided to hang out there for a while and take some pics. […]
Headcolds and Horses

A weekend lost to a headcold gives me time to get a lot of reading done and some cleaning up of my photo library. I was going back through photos from last year, and found this inspiring shot from Guanajuato. Guess what I’m reading? Lots and lots of Game of Thrones. Actually I finished the […]
I know you’re back now, but you still left

Just a kitty placeholder while I edit photos from the weekend, and the guilt is just too much. Not that her photo on the blog appeases her as much as wet food.
mmmmm…pancakes

It’s been a slow week with a decided lack of decent snack food. Besides, these were the craziest pancakes I’ve ever seen, and they took like 20 minutes to make. Spotted while traveling a few weeks ago. Now I headed back to the kitchen to do some dishes and raid my peanut butter and nutella […]
