What do you want to do before you die?

Out of the fire and into something…

This week is Early In-Service Training. That’s all I can say about that right now, except that tomorrow is my “presentation” on my center and how the first 3 months have gone. I’ve been feeling a bit prickly about it, but hopefully I don’t come away too burned. Enough with the semi-puns now and I had […]
Making new friends has been no problem

Now they just need names. Ideas?
Back from Oaxaca

It was a great long weekend, and the day started beautifully. The 10-hour ride back was tough, but all-in-all worth it. As usual, more photos to come. [mappress mapid=”9″]
Are we ready to race now?

Crap. I still need to register for the race.
Some things just sound ridiculous when you say them out loud

Mine for today: I ran 30k. I had the chance to say this out loud twice today, and it sounded so completely different out loud than it did in my head. I guess I should go ahead and register for the darn marathon. Meanwhile, Bernal from the backside, from the weekend – not ridiculous:
A tiny bit wet

We each got one route in today before the rain drove us away from the rock but into the waterfall. There has been a lot of rain lately, maybe as the last salvo before the rainy season ends. Whatever the reason, the waterfall was so cold that it felt like icicles hitting your brain, but […]
Training treat

Here’s what I treated myself to today after a pretty good 20k training run: One side peanut butter, banana, and honey. One side peanut butter, Nutella, and banana. Oh peanut butter and Nutella, I have to keep running this much to justify our relationship. This isn’t the best food shot that I’ve taken recently (thank […]
It’s called being prepared

While I’m still waiting for my gas tank to be fixed, it turns out that I had a bit of gas left. I expect to run out at any second, so I had to prioritize my usage. First, light the pilot and heat water for a hot shower, and second, make coffee for the morning.
Monday is for Organization

But here is a placeholder while I process the 45 or so images that I want to post from the Festival Siguientescena. This is my final photo of the evening and the festival, because my battery died right after I took this one. So fitting though, because b-boy Gregory from Canada was probably my favorite […]
Sometimes this happens.

When I’ve had a little bit more to drink than I intended. Meanwhile, the ongoing arts festival in town has been fantastic. More to come.
Ode to a flour tortilla

You make the best quesadilla. I’m sorry that I ever doubted you.
